Australia's Biggest Morning Tea at Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre

On Thursday the 14th May the Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre joined with hundreds of other organisations in holding Australia's  Biggest Morning Tea.

Beenleigh Buzz was invited to participate and suddenly there I was on the wrong side of the camera.

The event was booked out but heavy rain meant that some people simply couldn't make it. Those who did however were glad they made the effort. There was more than enough food to keep the pangs of hunger at bay and drinks to balance the water outside.

Two of the guests were Nyx and Marrina.

Nyx was attending as a representative of the Federal Member of Parliament for Forde and and her friend Marrina was the photographer of the hall full of people above.

Music was provided by the duo Vintage Echo. They provided excellent background for the days activities

The event was organised by Anthony Ketland of the Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre  and the MC on the day was Sonya Chindamo the Community Inclusion Officer at the Centre.

There were several sponsors for the event including River Road Tavern and Logan City Council.

The funds raised  all go to Cancer Council Queensland to enable them to continue research and to help victims of cancer in Australia.
